February 2023 monthly devlog: almost something

Hello again!

You know how for the past few months I've been saying that there's been no progress on the game and that I've nothing to report on? Well, this month will be different because I'm giving you... almost nothing. As in, there's nothing for you to try or download, but... I've got news about the game, at least.

So, the "normal" stage for the second boss is finished. As in, all the attacks and phases I wanted to implement are there. There's probably bugs to be fixed and tweaks to be done, as always, but at least it should be playable enough. So why am I not making a release then? The answer is because we are (well, just me actually, as I'm doing this of my own accord) going back to the "boss rush" style of game, for the moment. It's clear we don't have the time to be developing a full fledged map on top of designing and implementing the bosses, so this should cut a good chunk of work for us. The plan is still for the final game to have a map you can explore, but I think it's better for all of us if we finish the bosses first. So right know I have a game in this half-state of being a dungeon exploring adventure and a menu driven boss rush experience, which I'm trying to fix. And since the plan is still to have the explore the dungeon part implemented towards the end, I'm also trying not to delete the work I did since the game released (almost a year ago, by the way. Yikes! Time goes by fast).

That's the current situation right now. As I said, nothing in the way of actual content, but it should be releasing soon*.

*Soon means any date between now and the death of the universe. May not actually be soon at all.

With that, I'll end the devlog here. Hope to see you next month!
